A artista de Jundiaí, Dani Shirozono, esteve conosco ao longo do mês de julho para o aprofundamento de suas pesquisas. Montou sua área de trabalho em nossa sala expositiva, que por vezes se oferece à ocupação como ateliê aberto em meio ao Canteiro, de forma a possibilitar uma produção sujeita ao fluxo do espaço. Ao final do período, Dani promoveu uma tarde de visitas para compartilhar o resultado de sua imersão. O que até então era processo, de repente se materializou uma verdadeira exposição individual!
Nas palavras de Guilherme Guimarães: “Andar por este espaço é então exercício de todos os sentidos. Sentem-se à mesa, sintam o cheiro do café, bebam, olhem o diante, escutem e se infiltrem na família da artista, façam das memórias deles as suas. Esse é o exercício da memória como um enxame hipotético. Shirozono vai remontando a família, os lugares onde passaram, os sentimentos, ao tom coloquial, mas nas entrelinhas estão as agressões e as armas possíveis. Dani Shirozono at Canteiro
The artist from Jundiaí, Dani Shirozono, spent the month of July with us to deepen her research. She set up her workspace in our exhibition room, which at times serves as an open studio within Canteiro, allowing for a creative process shaped by the space’s dynamic flow. At the end of her residency, Dani hosted an afternoon of visits to share the results of her immersion. What had been an ongoing process suddenly materialized into a true solo exhibition! In the words of Guilherme Guimarães:
"Walking through this space is an exercise for all the senses. Sit at the table, take in the aroma of coffee, drink, look ahead, listen, and immerse yourself in the artist’s family—make their memories your own. This is the exercise of memory as a hypothetical swarm. Shirozono reconstructs her family, the places they’ve been, and their emotions in a conversational tone, yet beneath the surface lie tensions and the possible weapons of resistance. In this way, she invites us to navigate the many paths within this suspended and cyclical space, disguised as an open studio invitation."
